I'm a freelance storyteller, performer and theatre-maker from Luxembourg. During my studies in ‘Applied Theatre’ at the "Universität der Künste" in Berlin, I discovered the world of tales, legends and myths and, especially, the profession of the storyteller. I then started to take classes and decided to face the challenge of becoming a freelance artist in Luxembourg, where professional storytelling was quite unknown until then.
From 2010 onwards, I have been working in Luxembourg again, collaborating with a wide range of artists from different backgrounds such as theatre, music, illustration, circus or film animation. First invitations to storytelling festivals followed soon.
As a storyteller, I've worked on professional stages like the Philharmonie de Luxembourg, the Rotondes or the Wiener Konzerthaus, mainly in plays combining music and stories. But I've also been active at numerous schools or social institutions, giving simple storytelling lessons or workshops. Furthermore, I organise storytelling and theatre training for teachers, pedagogues and educators.
Alongside my main activity as a storyteller and performer, I have also worked on several theatre projects with non-professional actors with whom I created, for example, Oh the sea (Kulturfabrik Esch, 2014) or Jo Josette (Services à l'égalité des chances Dudelange et Bettembourg, 2014).
In a broader context, I have worked as an author, actor, lecturer and narrator of audio texts, like for example my three own audio books E Kuerf voller Geschichten (2013), D'Zaubermillen (2015) and Zwee Ënnerwee (2020), all produced by and diffused at the Rotondes.
In 2015, I founded my own company ‘Theater Traverse’, together with fellow artists Milla Trausch and Luc Hemmer. Our goal was to create and promote interdisciplinary performances, as well as educational art projects in and out of Luxembourg. The collective we focused on innovative theatre and music forms for and with young audiences. In 2021, we broke up with Theater Traverse to join our friends from Koplabunz and to unite forces.
In 2021 also, I founded Erzielkonscht a.s.b.l, together with my storytelling colleague Luisa Bevilacqua. The aim of this new association is to support and promote the art of oral storytelling in Luxembourg, to contributing to the professionalization and the recognition of the art of oral storytelling in our country, but also to put Luxembourg on the international map of storytellers.
Furthermore, I am a member of the international association Verband der Erzählerinnen und Erzähler e.V., a founding member of ASPRO (Association Luxembourgeoise des Professionnels du Spectacle Vivant) and a founding and committee member of ASSITEJ Luxembourg.
